Compliance Program
Therapy compliance should not be something we trust will take place but rather something we should manage through a process of personal interaction. We provide for a dedicated patient therapy compliance program right from the beginning. We verify patient compliance by downloading information directly from the patient’s therapy device, not just asking a question of whether the patient has been using their device or not. Patients love the personal attention and in this way with our specific schedule we can assist the patient to continue their prescribed therapy.
Predictors of noncompliance
- 33% of those who have no clinician follow up will discontinue use. A support process greatly helps improve compliance.
- It usually starts with the equipment. 60% of patients having trouble with the flow generator in the first few days will quit therapy.
- 30% of those having difficulties with the mask fit in the first few days will quit.
- If patients do not have trouble with their equipment in the few days, 79% will stay compliant.
- Patients not experiencing benefits from therapy are more likely to discontinue use.
